Ahern Circle is a dead-end street in North Billerica, about 525 feet long and 40 feet wide, running west from High Street between Mt. Pleasant Street and Village Lane to a cul-de-sac near the end of Hickory Lane. It was laid out on the "Woodledge Estates" definitive subdivision plan, prepared for the Billerica Development Co., Inc. by Fleming, Bienvenu and Associates, engineers and surveyors, of Billerica, and dated March 26, 1984. The planning board's approval is dated October 21, 1985, and the plan was recorded on February 13, 1986 (Plan Book 152, Plan 55). It shows five house lots of about 50,000 square feet around the street, one of them 108,463 square feet, and two lots on High Street with existing houses.

The name is that of the Ahern family, owners of land at the end of Hickory Lane. When the annual town meeting of 1984, at its session of May 17, 1984, voted under Article 30 to abandon a strip three feet wide at the end of Hickory Lane, it described the strip as bounded "by land of Ahern along an existing stone boundary"; the planning board reported that the residents did not want future development to "make Hickory Lane a throughway and a racetrack," but would allow a drain easement through the strip. The lots stayed vacant for several years. The Billerica Development Co. conveyed them in 1992 to the Churchyard Realty Trust, of which Robert K. Ahern was a trustee, and in November 1994 the trust sold all five lots to the Terra Homes and Development Corp. of Tewksbury. The houses were built in 1994 and 1995. No vote accepting Ahern Circle as a public way was found.
